Garden Wonderland – The Barn Nursery

[social_warfare buttons=”Facebook,Instagram”]Visiting garden centers has always been a happy place for me, so today, I am going to give you a tour of The Barn Nursery in Chattanooga, TN.

This nursery is truly an Disney like wonderland for gardeners. I don’t live in Chattanooga, so you might be wondering, why I would be sharing this nursery with you. Well, it is half way between Nashville and Atlanta, and in my opinion, is the absolute best place for a quick rest stop on my many trips between these two cities. Several years ago, when Sister first moved to Nashville, and I began making this trek, I spotted The Barn Nursery from the interstate. Having a total love affair with cobalt blue pottery, this place was calling my name. So I ventured off the interstate and found the nursery. This was the teaser I could see from the interstate.

Wow, it was such a delight for every single gardening sense. There are annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, fairy gardens, succulents, shade plants, native plants, pollinator plants, herbs, veggies, and I haven’t even started on the garden decor! Pillows, and artwork, benches, flags, baskets, candles, galvanized anything!, seasonal and holiday decor and did I mention cobalt blue pots! I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

So many beautiful annuals, and showy perennials in every color imaginable.

Hydrangeas and ferns and roses, oh my! And my favorite hostas too!

Look how huge this hanging basket is, see the lady just walking in the distance? Have I mentioned that I’m crazy for cobalt blue pots!

This is a fun plant I’ve had before, it’s an annual, but re-seeds like crazy. It gets pretty pink buds that turn into tiny flowers. Such a fun pop of bright green foliage! I like that the Barn Nursery has unique plants that you don’t find at your average garden center.

This place has so much to offer that you need a ‘You are here’ map! Haha!

Here is a beautiful selection outdoor pillows and artificial flowers.

I love decorating outdoor spaces with artwork just like you would an indoor space. They have a big selection of outdoor art.

What a fabulous selection of flicker candles. Here is the candle bar!

There are so many good ideas for hostess gifts. The garden center wouldn’t be complete with some colorful pots and garden benches.

This is just one area of galvanized goodness! I love the twig planters. Wouldn’t these be great for a mountain or lake home?

But on my very first visit, I discovered another very important feature, the restrooms! They are award winning.

Seriously, they take their restrooms seriously! Haha. Best pitstop ever between Atlanta and Nashville. I am not kidding. What makes them so special, you might ask? How about barnwood lined walls including vaulted barnwood ceilings and beams with a gorgeous chandelier, a rustic double vanity with copper sinks and cute pump faucets, and slate tile floors.

The stall partitions are corrugated tin and barnwood. The rest rooms are always decked out for the seasons featuring wreaths and candles and artwork from the store. It was a little weird taking pictures of the restroom. Luckily it wasn’t too busy. It’s also kind of weird blogging about a restroom, but this one is blog worthy! And of course, the restrooms are always clean.

And there is one more feature that makes this nursery, the perfect pitstop, they are dog friendly.

Since I frequently travel with my dogs, this is just an awesome added benefit. We all get to stop, stretch our legs and take a quick break from the car and interstate. And I get a healthy dose of seasonal inspiration.

Now that I live in Nashville, I am not making the trip back and forth as frequently, but every time I head to Atlanta, I look forward to my stop at The Barn Nursery.

I even plan trips to Chattanooga, just to go The Barn Nursery. Good thing my new to me back yard is a blank slate, because, I have trouble controlling my gardening genes when I visit.
