Uphol-Stories: Brittany Fusco
I’m excited to see where Brittany’s upholstery journey takes her. She is dead set (pun intended) on learning this craft and turning it into her future. She is so determined to to create the most luscious velvet tufted Victorian chairs that there really isn’t another option. I’m thoroughly loving watching her success unfold.
Brittany Fusco’s journey into upholstery started with her lifelong love for Victorian furniture and a dream of owning her very own Victorian home. One day, she began wondering just how much time and money it really takes to reupholster classic pieces—and thought, why not try doing it herself? Honestly, she never imagined she’d be able to figure it out, but thanks to Nancy, everything changed. With Nancy’s down-to-earth guidance, Brittany discovered that what started as a passion could actually turn into a serious skill and even open doors to financial freedom.
Before Cobani Bleu’s workshop, Brittany had zero experience with upholstery. But Nancy’s patience and knack for breaking down every step into an organized, skill-focused session made all the difference. She loved how the workshop was structured and tailored to teach one specific upholstery skill at a time. It wasn’t just about learning a new craft—it was about realizing she could do something she’d once thought was totally out of reach. That’s why Brittany keeps coming back for more.

The biggest takeaways for Brittany? You can do anything you set your mind to.

Now, she’s taking that new confidence and turning it into a side gig, with plans to eventually make it her full-time career. Her new business features Victorian-upholstered pieces and will soon showcase even more eclectic, even spooky designs. You can find her work on Instagram @_dread_decor. And while upholstery is her current passion, Brittany’s creativity doesn’t stop there—she’s also into music (singing, writing, and playing guitar) and is busy decorating her newly owned home.
The biggest takeaways for Brittany? You can do anything you set your mind to. She once thought tufting a Victorian chair was impossible, but Nancy’s steady support and a lot of practice proved otherwise. For Brittany, that lesson is a daily reminder that with the right guidance and a bit of persistence, dreams really can become reality. She’s excited to see where this creative journey takes her next.
